In the second funding phase, which has been running since January 2002, the research association is again focusing on the issue of interfaces and is expanding the analysis to include vocational rehabilitation. The SGB IX with its important regulations, in order to eliminate previous negative effects of interfaces on decision-making processes, on the persons concerned and on the quality of care, forms a central point of reference. In the first funding phase, the network undertook numerous activities on the interface topic, in particular: - the establishment of a permanent working group on "rehabilitation system interfaces", - participation in meetings of the cross-network working group "interfaces/aftercare", - the realization of several topic-relevant network workshops, among others on the SGB IX, - the organization of a workshop on "rehabilitation system interfaces", - the realization of a workshop on "rehabilitation system interfaces", - the realization of a workshop on the SGB IX. e.g. on SGB IX, - the organization of an "interfaces" workshop as part of an annual scientific conference, - the publication of an orientation paper on interface concepts. In the second funding phase, which formally began on 01.01.2002, the research network comprises six research projects, the office, the methods cross-section project and a rehabilitation science college. Four research projects are located at institutes and clinics of the University of Halle-Wittenberg, one project resides at the Medical Faculty of the University of Magdeburg, and another is conducted by a rehabilitation clinic: University of Halle-Wittenberg Project A1 Project Management Prof. Dr. J. A total of 10 medical and vocational rehabilitation facilities from the states of Saxony-Anhalt and Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania are participating in the projects of the second funding phase. The office of the network will continue to perform numerous organizational and administrative tasks, such as internal network information and coordination, internal network controlling, organization of the network workshops and member meetings, and participation in the external presentation and public relations work of the network. She is also responsible for the supervision of the working group "Rehab System Interfaces". It works closely with the Methods project and the Rehabilitation Science College. The Methods project has the task of advising the collaborative projects, the methodological further qualification in the network and the methodological quality assurance. In addition to the previous quantitative methodological consulting and activities, qualitative methodology will also be included in the second funding phase, in line with the needs of some collaborative projects. The Rehabilitation Science College, which is funded for two years, primarily serves to promote young graduates in the field of medical, vocational and social rehabilitation science and research. On the one hand, it comprises the rehabilitation science study program, which involves the university lecturers of the research network as well as external experts as lecturers, depending on the topic. On the other hand, it includes the doctoral scholarships and the scholarship supervision program, in which other doctoral students with rehabilitation topics can also participate. The network structure - consisting of the network executive board, administrative office, network advisory board, methods center, general meeting, etc. - will be continued in principle. - Cooperation with the "Förderverein Regionale Rehabilitationsforschung in Mecklenburg- Vorpommern und Sachsen-Anhalt e. V." (Regional Rehabilitation Research Association in Mecklenburg- Vorpommern and Saxony-Anhalt), whose main goal is to promote research in the field of medical and vocational rehabilitation and to support the process of translating scientific findings into rehabilitative practice, will also be continued. Since January 2003, the research association has been strengthened by the endowed chair in "Rehabilitation Medicine" at the Medical Faculty of the University of Halle-Wittenberg. The chair, which is jointly financed for the first ten years by the LVA Saxony-Anhalt and the Verband Deutscher Rentenversicherungsträger (Association of German Pension Insurance Institutions), will be continued from state funds after the funding phase. The establishment of the endowed chair - in the context of the joint funding and the Förderverein Regionale Rehabilitationsforschung - is a central measure with the aim of securing the basis for networked rehabilitation science research in the region in the long term.
