Ziel des Forschungsprojektes ist es,
- die Weiterbildungssituation gehörloser und schwerhöriger
- ihre Teilnahme an diesen Angeboten analog zum "Berichtssystem Weiterbildung" der Bundesregierung
- Aussagen über den Einsatz von technischen Hilfen oder
- Verbesserungsvorschläge für die Erwachsenenbildung hörbehinderter Menschen zu machen.

Improving the further vocational training for the hearing impaired (FVT)
The goal of the research project is
- to analyse the situation of deaf and hard-of-hearing adults concerning further training and to analyse the
offers of further training available to them,
- to record the statistics of the participation in the
courses following the example of the "report system further training" of the Federal Government of Germany,
- to work out statements on the use of technical aids or
sign language interpreters, on didactics and methodology
and
- to make suggestions for improving the education of hearing
impaired adults.
The core of the first project phase is further vocational training. A survey was made on courses on offer and participation in the areas training for the adaption to new requirements, retraining, further training for achieving a higher qualification and other relevant kinds of further training (e.g. according to the German law on seriously disabled persons), on participation of adult education centers, head welfare offices and sign language interpreters. The result of a symposium held in March 1997 is published. A publication of the results of the survey is in preparation.
